(More customer reviews)I saw the Panasonic Exhaust FV11VHL1 fan at a kitchen and bath remodeling store and thought it would be perfect for our 12x14 bath area. Let me start with installation. I installed the fan in place of a light in our 10 year old home. This is not a project for a novice. It requires installing a header to hold the fan and wiring four electrical switches. Note: the switches are not included with the fan, but I was able to find dual paddle switches at home depot along with a bezel to fit the switches. The fan is heavy and requires two people to lift it into the frame and bolt it in. Wiring the unit was also a chore as you need four separate power and four separate neutrals from the switches to the unit. I would definitely suggest using an electrician. Lastly, because I ran the unit off the power source for the light, it was a 15 amp circuit. This is probably "just" adequate for running the unit with lights and heater and if there are other lights or outlets on the circuit you are flirting with exceeding the amperage for a 15 amp circuit. Next operation. I thought the night light feature was too dim, but after using the night light I would say that it is just right. Very nice. The main light is bright and sufficient for moving about the room, but not adequate for primping/shaving in the morning. The heater function is nice, but don't expect a lot of heat. I turn it on before I need it and let it gradually heat the room. The heat function is enough to take the edge off and that's about it. The one feature that I am disappointed with is the vent. I tested it by holding a tissue under the vent to test the suction. I was not impressed. However, I want to check my installation of the vent hose to make sure that it is not blocked. Overall: This is an expensive unit with just adequate performance. I would recommend it for new construction, but would not recommend this unit for existing construction.
