(More customer reviews)I replaced a 25 year old fan with this model as part of a bathroom remodel job.
It's pretty quiet; which is what I was looking for. You turn it on and about 5 seconds later you hear a background whispering whir. Conversation is not a problem and you should be able to hear the phone ring through the bathroom door.
For background information; I have a Panasonic through the wall fan rated at 1.2 sones that's also pretty quiet. I'm not an expert on the sone scale, but this one is rated 0.3 sones, which I thought would be inaudible to an old guy like me. Ironically this fan is noisier than the one it replaced, but it's still a nice fan. I also liked that it fits a 4" vent pipe.
